The findings of a survey reveal that enterprises are investing 34% of IT budgets in cloud computing, strongly supporting the value proposition and underlining the competitive advantage that results from the use of Etz Timesheet Solutions.
The survey IDG Enterprise Cloud Computing Study, by the world’s leading technology media, research and event company, canvasses 1650 IT and business executives. The findings provide strong evidence to support the use of LoB (Line of Business) web-enabled applications. Such applications fulfil a specific business requirement and are hosted in the cloud and accessed over the internet, like Etz Timesheet Solutions.
Much of the enterprise level spend on cloud solutions is for the development of private cloud which organisations provision from within their own IT services estate, expressly for use inside the business.
Smaller organisations generally lack the capability to implement their own private clouds and have been switching to shared LoB cloud solutions for a number of years; as a result this has bought considerable competitive advantage by eliminating capital/reducing operational costs, enabling flexible working and providing rapid scalability.
Well it seems that larger organisations are now playing catch-up a little quicker by making greater efforts to exploit these advantages as well.
However there’s no need for smaller businesses to worry too much. Private clouds still carry considerable capital, administrative and maintenance overheads for the privilege of ownership, so the competitive advantage that smaller companies enjoy from using shared LoB application is far from being reigned in.
